New feature: Resident Ledger

New Feature

Many of you have been requesting alternate ways of handling payments. Up until now, we've used Stripe as our PSP whenever a resident makes a purchase (like booking a guest room, or joining an event). Today we're releasing the first version of our resident ledger, which will allow you much more flexibility in how you handle payments.

Here's how it works:

All purchases with "Ledger" payment* are stored in the ledger, which can be accessed by any admin or residents that you grant access. Residents can find their current balance under 'My home' in the app or on the site.

Users with Ledger access can 'charge' any household/user account at any time. By doing this, we set the account balance to zero, and create a pro-forma invoice with the household purchases for the selected period.

What you do with these invoices is up to you. You can send them to the resident. Or you can request payment via your own PSP or MobilePay. You can also export a specified CSV-file, that you can use in whatever platform you are currently using to create invoices. This means (for example) that you can import all charges in UNIK/UB4 and handle payment in the same statement as rent.

* Whenever you create an entity that requires payment (this can be a guest room, communal dining, or a shared bike), you can now specify how you would like payment to be made. You can add your own instructions (ie. "pay when you arrive"), or if your settings allow it, you can select Credit Card or Ledger payment.

How to get started using Resident Ledger:

Ledger is available for all paid plans. If you'd like us to activate it for you (or if you'd just like to take it for a spin) send a quick message to hey@heynabo.com and we'll get you set up in a jiffy.
